Who We Are
The University of Texas Prevention Research Center (UTPRC) is one of 33 prevention research centers
funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC's Prevention Research Centers
Program helps create networks of academic centers, health agencies and communities for health promotion
and disease prevention research.

What We Do
Our research areas include: Longitudinal study of adolescent health; school-based physical activity and
academic performance; cancer prevention and control research network; professional education impacts on
cancer screening; attitudes about influenza vaccine; HIV, STD and pregnancy prevention among adolescents.
