Why UTSPH?
Well, first of all, we’ve been making health happen in Texas and around the globe for 40 years. UTSPH offers students a unique atmosphere for public health training. We are one school with six campuses spread across the state of Texas (Houston, Austin, Brownsville, Dallas, El Paso and San Antonio). There is no better place to experience the myriad of research opportunities among different populations and environments.
We have numerous scholarships, traineeship and other financial assistance options so the cost of your education may not be as expensive as you think.
The main campus in Houston is located in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. Our longstanding affiliations with medical facilities in the TMC offer students unlimited possibilities for collaboration and career development. The Austin Regional Campus focuses its research on health promotion, obesity prevention and tobacco cessation research. The Brownsville and El Paso campuses attack border health using different mechanisms – epidemiology in Brownsville and community health promotion in El Paso. Dallas researchers are experts in addiction research, maternal and child health research and environmental health while San Antonio works to improve general community health and environmental health.
Our program in Health Promotion is ranked #1 among all graduate schools of public health. Internationally known faculty are breaking new ground in obesity prevention and adolescent sexual health. Overall, UTSPH is one of the top ranked schools of public health in the latest US News and World Report rankings.
At UTSPH, we go forth, think creatively, strive to discover, educate the finest minds and we transform public health. Why would you go anywhere else?
