Below are the websites of some of the SPH funded projects:

ALLHAT (Antihypertensive and Lipid-Lowering Treatment to Prevent Heart Attack Trial) was the largest trial for treating high blood pressure, and the second largest for lipid-lowering treatment. The trial was conducted in over 600 locations throughout the U.S.A., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Canada. It was supported by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

CATCH (Coordinated Approach To Child Health) is a school health program designed to promote physical activity, healthy food choices, and prevent tobacco use in elementary school aged children.

CCTRN (Cardiovascular Cell Therapy Research Network) is a network of physicians, scientists, and support staff dedicated to studying stem cell therapy for treating heart disease.  The project is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

CITAR (Program Center for International Training and Research) is a program for advanced international training in HIV prevention research.

Heads Up (Health Education and Discovering Science While Unlocking Potential) is an initiative to excite students about science and health science careers.

Health Services Research Collaborative promotes and facilitates interdisciplinary research directed at improving policy and health outcomes of low-income and uninsured populations in the greater Houston area.

Healthy Passages is a longitudinal study designed to help families, health care providers, schools, and communities develop effective policies and programs to keep children and adolescents healthy.

HIGHER (Houston Initiative for Global Health, Education and Research) is a collaboration between the UT School of Public Health and Baylor College of Medicine. Funded by the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health, HIGHER’s purpose is to involve students in international research and promote global health.

LINCC (Latinos in a Network for Cancer Control). The purpose of LINCC is to maintain and further develop a Cancer Prevention and Control Network for Texas and surrounding states along the U.S.-Mexico Border with a focus on eliminating cancer–related health disparities among Hispanics/Latinos.
