Interdisciplinary Pre and Post Doctoral Fellowships
in Cancer Prevention and Control
Welcome to the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research website for pre- and post-doctoral fellowships in cancer prevention and control... a quality program to launch a successful career in cancer prevention and control research.
We will introduce you to the people -- mentors, faculty, current and former fellows, the advisory committee, and program directors -- who are at the heart of our program. We will show you our portfolio of current projects with their diverse risk factors, settings, methods, and populations.
We will tell you a little about the singular opportunities available in the setting -- our research center and school of public health, the University of Texas Health Science Center, the world's largest medical center, and the 4th largest city in the U.S. And, we will tell you about our program -- the benefits, requirements, and structure of our pre-doctoral and post-doctoral tracks, how to apply -- the applications -- and how to contact us.
Our program, now in its 15th year of funding from the National Cancer Institute, has an established track record in training cancer prevention and control fellows. We offer excellent mentoring and training opportunities in seminars and placements on research teams that advance our fellows' skills, experience, networks, and research productivity.
