Overview of Program and Curriculum Guidelines
The Management, Policy and Community Health (MPACH) Division provides instruction in the fields of economics, health services research, policy, law and management related to the health sector. The Management, Policy and Community Health (MPACH) Division offers the following degree programs: M.P.H. in Health Services Organization (HSO) or in Community Health Practice (CHP), Dr.P.H. in Health Services Organization (HSO) or in Community Health Practice (CHP); and Ph.D. in one of the following three tracks, Health Economics/Health Services Research (HE/HSR), Policy, or Management/Administration.
These guidelines are designed to assist the student and the advisory committee to define the minimum course work necessary for a MPACH degree or minor. Final decisions rest with the advisory committee, of which the student is a primary member. The committee will consider the student’s academic background and specific career and academic goals and objectives.
Summary of recommended curriculum and the number of courses that students are expected to take during their degree program:
M.P.H. in HSO take the 5 MPH core courses and at least 5 additional courses as recommended.
M.P.H. in CHP take the 5 MPH core courses and at least 4 additional courses as recommended.
M.P.H. in HCM take 4 MPH core courses (outside of MPACH division) and 9 prescribed courses as shown in the degree plan.
Dr.P.H. in HSO or CHP take at least 7 courses as recommended.
MPACH Ph.D. majors take at least 8 courses as recommended.
MPACH Ph.D. minors take at least 4 courses as recommended.
