Welcome to LINCC
| Overview LINCC was one of the five original Cancer Prevention and Control Research Networks (CPCRN) funded in 2002. LINCC is now one of eight CPCRNs funded until the year 2009. These networks consist of academic, public health, and community partnerships. The Networks are housed within Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) at University of Texas-Houston, Emory University, Harvard University, Morehouse College, St. Louis University, University of California-Los Angeles, University of North Carolina, and University of Washington. The CPCRN is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). |

Purpose
The purpose of LINCC is to maintain and further develop a Cancer Prevention and Control Network for Texas and surrounding states along the U.S.-Mexico Border with a focus on eliminating cancer–related health disparities among Hispanics/Latinos through community-based intervention and dissemination research. This network was established through collaborations with the University of Texas School of Public Health, Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research (a CDC-funded Prevention Research center), community-based organizations (National Center for Farmworker Health), health departments, practice settings, an NCI Community Network Program (Redes en Acción: The National Latino/Hispanic Cancer Network, Baylor College of Medicine) and an NCI-funded cancer research center (Center for Research on Minority Health, U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center ). |
