The Institute for Health Policy

IHP Affiliation - The UT School of Public Health Advantage

To work effectively, the Institute must be non-partisan and able to advocate for the best scientific findings available.  In other words, its bridging must be conscientious, and its brokering honest.  Moreover, special attention must be given to the state-wide and community needs of Texans.

The Institute’s affiliation with the School of Public Health at Houston permits it to build on the school’s reputation for non-partisanship and to take advantage of its long record of scholarly contributions to the state.  Finally, the School offers a well-developed graduate curriculum in health policy and a critical mass of faculty accomplished in policy research.
