The Global Health Concentration curriculum is intended for any Public Health student interested in exploring how globalization is affecting the determinants of health, the health status of the population, and the capacity of nation states to deal with the determinants of health and disease.

Global Health Concentration program at the University of Texas School of Public Health recognizes that many of the solutions to today’s public health challenges are beyond the capacity of national institutions. The challenges have to be addressed through international collaboration and negotiation as well as through local non-governmental organizations and grassroots action; this endeavor expands upon and complements the more traditional efforts of international health, which tend to focus on how developing countries address their public health issues within their own territory.
