- To collaborate with other prominent University of Texas schools to provide innovative healthcare research and education on healthcare management, finance, and organization.
- To bring together leading healthcare executives, researchers, and students to enable change in health delivery and organizational effectiveness.
Academic Mission
- Raise the visibility and importance of management concepts in healthcare
- Provide state of the art research on issues of health organization, strategy, marketing, management, and finance
- Develop and improve the educational degree programs currently available at the graduate level for healthcare management (e.g., an MPH in Healthcare Management is currently being planned for Fall 2009 enrollment)
- Offer opportunities for both post-graduate fellowships and “executives in residence” to integrate theory and practice
Service Mission
- Provide a forum for healthcare executives in the Texas Medical Center and beyond to dialogue industry and organizational challenges and strategies
- Provide consulting and research to local and national healthcare organizations
- Integrate theory into practice in our research areas through fellowships, residencies, internships, and other projects
- Leverage University of Texas brand name in industry-sponsored research
