Thomas McHugh, PhD, will present “Understanding the impact of groundwater contamination on indoor air quality” The presentation will discuss a sampling program that provides an understanding of air and soil gas exchange within a building, developed in order to distinguish subsurface and other sources of VOCs in indoor air. Thomas McHugh, PhD, is a Vice President with GSI Environmental. Dr. McHugh has worked on a number of projects related to vapor intrusion including field investigations and model development. The overall objective of the CRED is to study the mechanisms by which environmental factors may cause or influence human disease and to develop methods for early detection, prevention, and control of environmentally related diseases.
