Comparative International Health Systems

UTHSC-H Research Day 2007 - SAVE THE DATE!

Task Force on Access to Health Care in Texas

The next meeting of the Task Force on Access to Health Care in Texas will take place in Austin, Texas on the morning of October 22, 2007.  The meeting will be held at the Commons Conference Center, located on the J. J. Pickle Research Campus of The University of Texas at Austin. The Task Force will update you on progress of its 2006 report: CODE RED: The Critical Condition of Health in Texas.

This Task Force public meeting will begin with registration at 8AM, and will conclude by 12:30PM, when the Task Force members will take all issues addressed into consideration and begin their deliberations on those topics raised.

Jessica Tullar, BA, will present, “What Are Effective Interventions to Prevent Musculoskeletal Injuries in Health Care Workplaces:  Findings From A Systematic Review”  Jessica Tullar received her BA in Biological Sciences at Rice University. Ms. Tullar’s masters work evaluated college students and symptoms of musculoskeletal pain from computing. She is a NIOSH Occupational Injury Prevention Fellow in the Ph.D. Epidemiology program. Her interests include both physical and psychosocial occupational exposures. McGovern Award Lecture Series in Health Promotion and the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN): LINCC presents “Public Health and The Cochrane Collaboration”  with Jodie Doyle, Senior Research Fellow, University of Melbourne, Australia. Texas Public Health Association 83rd Annual Education Conference

NIH Loan Repayment Program - New Cycle Opening for 2008
The NIH Loan Repayment Program application cycle for fiscal year 2008 is currently open. The deadline for applicants to submit their online application is December 1, 2007.
