This workshop is being offered by Drs. Maria Fernandez and Maria Fernandez-Esquer during the summer semester.  The workshop is June 23-June 29, 2007 with follow-up assignment due before the end of summer classes (August 6, 2007)  Register for PH 1498 through UT Registrar's Office. Approval Codes not required.

A North Texas Pertussis Outbreak - TPHTC Grand Rounds

The Texas Public Health Training Center, the Texas Association of Local Health Officials and the North Texas Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association present Public Health Grand Rounds. Joyce Hood, MPH, RN, COHN-S, Director of Occupational Health Services at Cook Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas will present, "A North Texas Pertussis Outbreak." Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene
Monday – Thursday, July 16 – 19, 2007, 8am – 5pm, RAS E335
Presented by the Southwest Center for Occupational & Environmental Health, the "Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene" (FIH), led by Dr. Larry Whitehead and Dr. Jimmy Perkins, is the first of four courses (two required and two elective) you’ll need for a Certificate in Industrial Hygiene. APHA Public Health Fellowship in Government
July 20, 2007 - APPLICATIONS DUE
APHA is looking for candidates with strong public health credentials who wish  to  work  in a congressional office on legislative and policy issues related to health and the environment. The fellowship will begin in January 2008 and continue through December 2008. The fellowship is designed to provide a unique public policy learning experience, to demonstrate the value of science-government interaction, and to make practical contributions to enhancing public health science and practical knowledge in government. The process of applying for this fellowship is an open competition. A committee of APHA leaders and policy experts will review the applications and select the finalists.  The application is due to APHA by July 20, 2007.  The committee will make its decision by September 30, 2007.  All candidates must have a MPH or a Doctorate in a public health discipline plus 5 years of experience in a public health setting.
