Other Information: The Common Core of Data (CCD) is the Department of Education's primary database on public elementary and secondary education in the United States. CCD is a comprehensive, annual, national statistical database of all public elementary and secondary schools and school districts, which contains data that are designed to be comparable across all states.

These are large files and are in either Excel, SAS, or comma-delineated formate. If you are unfamiliar with the software needed to view these files, you may need assistance after retrieving the data. The International Archive of Education Data (IAED) provides a means to build a table using the common core of data. The IAED is a project sponsored by NCHS and is operate by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Reserch (ICPSR).

Additional school finance information is available from the reports titled "School District Revenues for Elementary and Secondary Education: 2001-02". The Finance Data File (F-33) forms the core of the report but information is supplemented with data from the Census Bureau and the Burea of Economic Analysis. Other finance reports are available at NCES.
