Completion Requirements
Certificate students can complete the program in one year by taking two courses in both spring and fall semesters and one summer course. Students making C or better in all five courses will receive a certificate stating that they have completed the core public health courses. The student's University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston transcript will list the courses taken and indicate the award of certificate.
Counting Certificate Courses toward a Public Health Degree
Certificate students may apply for the MPH or other degree programs at UTSPH, and if they are admitted, courses taken as a certificate student during the previous five years in which they received a grade of A or B will be counted toward completion of their degree program.
