Certificate Program in Public Health

The University of Texas School of Public Health offers a graduate Certificate in Public Health, a 16 hour program of study consisting of five courses covering the core disciplines of public health.

Certificate and MPH students will participate in these classes together. Classes will be offered at the UTSPH campus in Houston, at the five UTSPH Regional Campuses (San Antonio, El Paso, BrownsvilleDallas, and Austin ), and as online courses.

Who Should Apply?

  • Those who work in public health, but who lack formal public health training
  • Future students who intend to apply these courses toward their public health degree program at UTSPH.
  • Those delivering health care who need knowledge and skills in some of the core public health disciplines, but may not want the full MPH curriculum
  • Exceptional seniors in affiliated undergraduate degree programs
