Deanna Hoelscher is assistant professor of biological sciences and nutrition at the University of Texas-Houston School of Public Health. She is a registered dietitian, a licensed dietitian for the state of Texas, and a Certified Nutrition Specialist.
Deanna's research interests include child nutrition, school food-service interventions, and dietary-assessment methodology. She is co-investigator on a multi-center study examining the effects of a comprehensive school health program on cardiovascular risk factors in children. She also leads a study to develop nutrition surveillance tools for school children.
