Received a master's degree in Public Health
from The University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston. She planned, implemented, and evaluated public health education programs for the Arkansas Department of Health and for the Memphis/Shelby County Health Department (Tennessee). She wrote a paper, funded by the NHLBI , on health education for Mexican Americans for Baylor College of Medicine. She coordinated patient education projects for Texas Children's Hospital and then coordinated their Healthy Steps for Young Children program to promote child health and development through parent education. She is a member of the Society for Public Health Education . She became Dissemination Coordinator for the ALLHAT trial at the CCCT in 2004 and coordinates dissemination of the ALLHAT results to physicians, pharmacy benefit managers, and patients.
