Davis
Received his M.D. from
the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine
in 1977 and his
Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University in 1982.
He is board certified in Public Health and in General Preventive
Medicine. Dr. Davis has extensive experience in the design,
conduct, and analysis of multicenter clinical trials. He
is a Fellow of the American
Statistical Association ,
the
American College
of Preventive Medicine ,
and the American
Heart Association Council
on Epidemiology and Prevention. Also, he is past President
of the Society for Clinical
Trials and currently Chair of the Biometrics Section of the American
Statistical Association.
Dr. Davis has an extensive publication
record in the statistical and medical literature. He is currently
the Principal Investigator
and Director of the ALLHAT Clinical
Trials Center and was the Principal Investigator and Director
of the TAIM Coordinating
Center, a Co-Investigator and Deputy Director of the SHEP
Coordinating Center, and Co-Investigator of the HDFP, BHAT, SAVE, CARE,
and CRYO-ROP studies. He participated
in all phases of most of these studies including steering
committees,
mortality and morbidity committees, publications committees,
executive committees, and data and safety monitoring committees.
Dr. Davis currently serves on many data and safety monitoring
committees for the National
Institutes of Health (NIH) and
industry.
