For Teacher, By Teacher Activity Plan Contest

Help fight childhood obesity and win $250

Today's students aren't getting the physical activity they need. And lack of physical activity leads to obesity and a host of other health problems. That's why the American Heart Association and the National Football League are joining forces to inspire and motivate adolescents to become more physically active. But we can't do it alone.

Now teachers can help us by participating in our "For Teacher, By Teacher" Activity Plan Contest. Thirty teachers who submit winning activity plans will be recognized and receive $250.

We are looking for creative and fun ideas that integrate physical activity into an adolescent's school day. We want to promote active living not just in physical education classes, but in language arts, social studies, science, and math classes too. We're asking teachers to

  • share existing activity plans, or
  • create new ones that incorporate physical activity into the classroom

We're going to get kids moving by sharing these activity plans with middle school teachers across America.

With your help, we can help kids increase their physical activity and become healthier, stronger, and more confident. Studies have also shown that increasing physical activity can even improve school performance.

Please help us by sharing your ideas to increase physical activity in the classroom and by sharing this e-mail with other teachers. We look forward to hearing from you!
