Brownsville Regional Campus

The Brownsville Regional Campus (BRC) is hosted at the Regional Academic Health Center (R.A.H.C.) building on the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College Campus. Since January of 2000 our faculty and researchers have been identifying public health issues, trends and concerns while also creating solid, community based models of public health awareness and education in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas.

BRC offers graduate level courses leading to the Master of Public Health degree.

The mission of the School of Public Health in Brownsville is to improve health and prevent disease in the population of the Lower Rio Grande Valley by developing local research and professional capacity, and by the integration of teaching and research within the community.

New Degree Programs!

Beginning Fall 2009 the Brownsville Regional Campus will be offering two doctoral degrees here in the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas.  Focusing on epidemiology and behavioral sciences, student will have the opportunity to apply  to either the Doctorate of Philosophy, Ph.D. or the Doctorate of Public Health Dr.PH.
